The Island is a fictional account, exploring ideas of protection, the natural world, and humanity's place in it. The story takes a scientific hypothesis as a starting point: some cold-blooded species have no fixed adult size, as humans do, but continue to grow until they die. If these species were completely protected, they could theoretically keep growing and live forever. The Island exists as a completely protected place for the carefully chosen candidates of a scientific investigation.

We took a trip to sunny Portugal and spent four wonderful days exploring and drawing Faro. Refreshed by the sun and bright Faro colours, we arrived home and Georgie set to work creating images for a book. The rules: quick layering, minimal editing and only ever two colours on a page. The book is a visual contemplation of the city over four days.
‘Faro’ was then silkscreen printed in a limited first edition of 20. It’s printed on 190gsm recycled Cyclus paper with a heavyweight deep blue card cover. The book is 20cm by 20cm and bound with a blue band.
